This is the way winter is supposed to look. I took this photo from a viewpoint near Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire. The sun was setting behind me and the fresh snow clinging to the trees of the Cannonballs and Kinsman mountains was glowing a bright white.
There are some winters where it snows a ton but never really sticks to the trees. In early January of 2021 we’d only seen about eight inches of snowfall but seemingly all of it was blanketing the branches and boughs of the trees across the White Mountains. It was truly beautiful.
