The Teton Range towers over Moulton Barn in Grand Teton National Park. This barn is one of the most popular spots in the park - in the summer when you can drive right in. In the winter, Antelope Flats Road to Mormon Row is closed and, when I was there in March, buried under at least five feet of snow.
Scott Hotaling and I slept in our cars and woke up hours before sunrise. We hiked through the frozen tundra for an hour or so as the sky gradually lightened at our backs. Just as we arrived at the barn, the first hints of pink were starting to light up the peaks of the Teton Range. This sunrise at Moulton Barn wound up being one of the most memorable I’ve experienced.
