I’ve had this composition in my head for a while now. I’ve always loved this part of the White Mountains - I took one of my first overnight backpacking trips to Kinsman Pond when I was in middle school. In early July, Dave Simms and I spent the night at the Kinsman Pond Shelter (on the edge of the lake in the foreground of this photo) and watched the sunset over Cannon Mountain and Franconia Ridge from the top of North Kinsman. It was a beautiful evening to be up in the mountains.
